Where to find me:
I see clients at 1923 N.E. Broadway Street in Northeast Portland.
What I do best:
What I do best is encourage your unique brilliance —
And support you along the way.
Because if you’re in a situation that’s not working out —
And you’d like to change it —
By all means — in addition to leaving me a message — please contact me for a free initial session.
Because the first 30 minutes are free —
And you’ll be able to find out if what I offer will be of help to you.
I’ll help you get focused and get moving.
A little bit about me:
- I’ve been married to the same woman for 35 years —
- Raised two children
- Had five careers.
- Known the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat —
- Grown wise through these experiences.
- I’ve been an architect, a building contractor and taught design —
- Bring structure and focus to your creative genius.
- Offer you an unmatched ability to focus and reach your personal and professional goals.
And I love getting feedback.

Why do I focus on men?
Because men are different.
We are a unique kind of human being.
Just as any gender is unique, men, too, are unique.
We need to succeed in ways that are unique to men.
And we need to be challenged in ways that others sometimes don’t understand.
In fact, our brains are hard-wired for certain activities that can cloud our vision.
And yet, we have needs that are often suppressed and unexpressed.
Why a Portland life coach?
Because it helps to breathe the same air.
It’s amazing how few male life coaches there are out there.
There are lots of soccer coaches, baseball coaches and other sports coaches —
But not many male life coaches.
And not many local.
Why is that?
Because men, on the whole, don’t know how to talk about themselves very well —
Especially when it comes to feelings.
But not only feelings.
Because men also struggle with shame and guilt, fear and feelings of inadequacy —
And don’t know how to talk about these things very well.
Which means that men often stay stuck in these areas.
Because we have deep emotions — but often don’t know how to talk about our emotions.
And yes —
You could go online and talk to a coach there.
Or you could read a book by many of the good coaches who have written books.
And there are lots of podcasts available.
But the great thing about meeting with a Portland life coach face to face —
Is that it’s more direct — and more accountable.
Because you want accountability.
When I was about 11 years old, my mom and dad were divorcing — a difficult emotional time.
My dad had emotions that he was wrestling with — but didn’t know who to talk to.
So he talked to me.
And I began coaching my dad through some difficult emotional times.
And for some reason, he wanted to hear my advice for his life.
You’d have to ask him, of course —
But I got early feedback that my advice was helpful.
And helped him to follow through on his good intentions.
So I realized at a young age that I had this ability to help men talk about difficult emotions —
And help them follow through.
So what I find especially valuable about the local option of a Portland life coach (if you live in the Portland area) —
Is personal accountability.
A kind of personal accountability that you don’t get from a book or a course or a podcast or an online coach.
Ready for a change?
Are you tired of being stuck where you are?
And are you ready for a change?
Because once you understand the forces that have shaped your life —
You can make the mid-course corrections needed.
I’ll help you understand those forces and make a plan to get moving.
In fact, you may be surprised at how quickly you’ll be able to get onto a path that leads to what you define success and happiness to be.
And I’ll help you identify your core issues quickly.
That way, we can devote the majority of our time to moving from where you are — to where you want to be.
The main thing I do for you is help you get focused — and then use that focus to put an effective plan into place — to get moving.
But you’ll have to want the change, and you’ll have to put in the work.
If you will —
Then you can get out of your overwhelm, and into the powerful, creative life you want.
