Don’t underestimate the power of your sweet spot. Sweeten your day with the perfect amount of syrup to make it just write.

syrup

Wait a minute.

Did he just say, “… to make it just write?” Shouldn’t that be “just right?”

Good question.

I encourage you write. Why? Because writing gets what’s in your head out of your head, where you can do something with all that stuff floating around in there, doing you more harm than good.

Don’t believe me? Think about it for a minute. What makes you anxious? Isn’t it all those unresolved conflicts in your head? Same goes for run-of-the-mill depression. It’s the stuff in your head running around causing havoc without your permission.

If you want to clear your head, spend some time writing. You’ll find out what’s floating around up there in the old noodle.

What about the syrup?

When I say syrup, I mean sweeten your life.

Most days, what you get is a shit sandwich. How are you going to eat that sandwich with aplomb and even relish?

Sweeten it up.

How do you do that?

Spend more time in your sweet spot. Your sweet spot is that place where you get the most out of your swing. Whether we’re talking about a tennis racket, a golf club or a baseball bat, in sports terms, there is a spot which, when you hit the ball just right, it takes so little effort and the ball goes flying wonderfully far.

In your everyday life, your sweet spot is that conjuntion where, when you do what you do best, what you put in and what you get out is a small miracle. You put a little in, and wow! Look what you get out. But how can you get more of your sweet spot into your everyday life?

Repetition, repetition, repetition.

For example: let’s say you’re a born leader. But in your current job you’re not leading. Which means you’re not spending as much time in your sweet spot (leadership) as you could be. So you feel out of sorts.

Let’s find a way for you to do more of what you do best, (leadership, in this example) so you feel better. When you pour more of your sweet spot into your day, it’s like adding syrup to a pancake. It tastes better; feels better — it is better!
