You say you want balance in your life. But you also say you want more excitement. So which is it? And can you have both balance and a life that will keep your heart pumping? Let’s find out.

Balance

Struggling with the balance?

If you’re struggling to find balance in your life today, you’re not alone.

Studies show that most men want more excitement.

But they also want stability.

And yet, most men also complain about the boredom that comes with stability.

Bored at work, bored at home.

So it sounds like you want more excitement, but when pressed — you also want more stability.

So what’s the problem?

The problem is that you don’t really know what you want.

Because you aren’t a kid anymore, and you’re far from dead.

So — you’re in that difficult middle passage.

And as such, you’re less sure today than ever before about what actually floats your boat.

You like the idea of excitement.

But you also like a steady paycheck.

You play the edge sometimes —

But you don’t want to get busted.

So what ends up happening?

You play it safe.

And then you hate yourself for playing it safe.

So what’s the solution?

There is only one way out of this mess.

You’ve got to tell a better story.

And yes, I know you may be rolling your eyes.

So just stop reading if you want to.

But if you want to actually change your situation for the better, keep reading for the next two minutes.

It will be worth your time.

Because your life is in the balance.

And it’s not your fault you never became a better story teller.

But it’s not too late.

All you need to tell a much more interesting story (and live it) is a basic understanding of what makes a great story.

Here’s all you need:

  • A protagonist (that’s you)
  • With an internal issue (i.e., what really sets you off?)
  • Faced with impossible odds
  • That he overcomes — or so it seems
  • And then falls short
  • But picks himself up
  • And begins again, but not until he’s gone through a profound change that deals with his internal issue.

So start telling a better story.

And listen, I get it.

I’m a guy, just like you.

And guys aren’t supposed to sit around telling stories.

They’re supposed to be out moving the lawn.

And if you just want to mow that lawn for the rest of your life, well —

I can help you, but you’ve got to get started.
