You know you want to. So what’s keeping you from getting up off the couch or out of that chair and going outside to play today?
You’re so serious.
You used to be fun. You used to run outside and play for hours. But now it’s all work and no play, and you are becoming very dull. What happened?
You’ve realized you have some limitations, and it’s making you feel bad. I mean, sure. There were always some things, even as a kid, that held you back a bit, like bullies on the playground or parents who were too strict or too weird. But this is different.
Your limitations are getting you down. It might be lack of money, or disillusionment, or just plain boredom: you can’t figure out what to do with your life. So you’ve hunkered down and you’re stuck.
What can you do?
Get a dog. Well, maybe not a dog. But somehow a friend who helps you step outside of yourself. Because a big part of the problem right now is you’re too inside yourself. You need some perspective.
Please watch this very short video (about 4 minutes) called The Present by Jacob Frey and Markus Kranzler. Then come right back for today’s takeaway.
Go outside and play. Find a friend who will help you get outside — so you can get outside yourself.
