It would be easy to stand back right now, and watch the crazy world go by. That would be a mistake. Now is the time to invest.
Don’t stand back.
Things are a little crazy right now. Most things are pretty upside down and backward — which is a good thing. It’s good that we are finally getting down to some brass tacks, after so many years of unsustainability. Something real is happening, which is painful, disturbing, and key to future growth.
Find your why.
The question is: what will you do in this new time? I know you’ve been thinking about this question. And the best place to start (or restart) is to find or return to your Why. Your Why is your reason for doing what you do: it’s at the heart of what motivates you (or the reason why you don’t feel motivated). Finding your Why is essential to getting up in the morning and feeling alive. So — it’s a great time to take a look at your Why.
Make it sustainable.
And if your Why is going to not only get you up in the morning, but give you actual meaning and even Joy — you’re going to want to consider the sustainabilty of where you invest your life blood. Because chances are, you’ve noticed that part of the problem with the world (and your place in it) is that you have discovered recently just how unsustainable certain parts of your life are. Let’s do something about that.
Even if you only watch a few minutes of this brief talk by Chris McKnett, you’ll get the concept of sustainability drilled into you so you won’t forget. While Chris is talking about financial concepts, what he says is also applicable to how you can invest in a personal Why that gives you a meaningful life today — and tomorrow.
Invest in a sustainable Why. Now is a great time to do it.
